The aim of the app is to record and play phrases.

Each phrase will repeat, after a configurable interval, until the user chooses to move on to the next one.

Here are step-by-step instructions on how to use Nagtastic



Record (initial) screen:

Recording

  • Tap the Record button to record. Maximum clip length: 30 seconds (visible countdown and record volume)
  • While recording, tap the Backspace button to stop and discard the current recording.

Tips & Tricks

  • Long press the Record button to record walkie-talkie style.
  • Tap the image icon to load a photo/screenshot; long press to change it.
  • Tap Lists to enter Lists screen.
  • Tap Play to enter Play screen and start playing.
  • Slide up Controls bar to enter Edit screen.

Edit screen:

Editing

  • The Controls bar indicates the insert point for the next recorded clip.
  • Scroll list in Edit screen to position the insert point.
  • Swipe an item to delete it; prepares the next item for easy multiple deletes.

Tips & Tricks

  • Tap an item to hear it.
  • Swipe the Controls bar to delete all items; can easily undo if accidental.
  • Numbering is not intended to be permanent – just to be stable while editing; items are renumbered when Play is tapped.
  • Tap Lists to enter Lists screen.
  • Tap Play to enter Play screen and start playing from the clip directly below the Controls bar. If the Controls bar is at the end on the list, start playing from the beginning.
  • Slide down Controls bar to return to Record screen.

Play screen

Playing

  • Drag the slider to adjust the delay time until the playing clip is repeated (logarithmic scale).
  • Tap the Previous/Next button to play the previous/next clip
  • Play stops at the end of the list; tap Play to restart from the first clip.
  • Tap Pause button to stop playing and go to Edit screen. Pause button doubles (triples?) as a volume and elapsed clip time meter.
  • Slide up Controls bar when stopped to return to Edit screen.
  • Tap Lists to enter Lists screen.

Lists screen:

Editing

  • Tap the list info button to edit its title or play from the beginning.
  • Tap Edit to edit the list; can delete and move lists.
  • Tap Add button open a new empty list in the Record screen.
  • Tap Settings to enter Setting screen.
  • Tap a list to open it in Edit screen.

Note: A newly created list will prompt for a title when first returning to Lists screen.

Settings screen:

  • In-app purchase to remove ads and contact info.
  • Fine control over device sleeping while playing.
  • Fine control over how audio is handled while playing.
